A wealthy college student from New York City was one of the eight rioters accused of smashing windows and spraying graffiti in downtown Manhattan on Friday.

Clara Kraebber, 20, is a well-to-do Upper-East-Sider whose mother is an architect for Kindred Arch.Works, which designs spaces for Columbia University and New York University. Her father is a child psychiatrist who teaches at Columbia University’s Department of Psychiatry, the New York Post reported.

In 2016, the family purchased a $1.8 million 16th-floor apartment on East End Avenue; the family also owns a home in Litchfield County, Connecticut, with four fireplaces that dates back to 1730.

Kraebber was one of eight people arrested for allegedly causing more than $100,000 in damage during a three-hour rampage from Foley Square to 24th Street. Far-left groups calling themselves the “Revolutionary Abolitionist Movement” and the “New Afrikan Black Panther Party” organized the riot.

But despite Kraebber’s lavish upbringing, she is no stranger to street protests.

She interviewed with the New York Times in 2014 explaining why she joined a Manhattan rally on behalf of the Michael Brown shooting in Ferguson, Missouri. Kraebber was a 14-year-old student at Hunter College High School at the time.

“We don’t have much political power right now, being youths, but this is something we can do,” she told the Times in 2014.

Now, she is a student at Rice University in Houston, according to her LinkedIn page. According to the Post, she was a member of the Rice Young Democrats and helped Beto O’Rourke try to unseat Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) in the 2018 Senate race.

She faces a charge of first-degree riot and up to four years in prison if convicted.

Businesses in downtown Portland, Oregon, have lost $23 million since violent protests have wracked the city, authorities say.

Portland Police Bureau Deputy Chief Chris Davis told reporters that the intensity of the violence and length of the demonstrations have been unprecedented in the city’s history.

“It is really unprecedented in Portland’s history. We are now in our sixth week of these events, and we’re always hopeful that we’re winding down,” said Davis. “We’ve never seen this intensity of violent, focused criminal activity over this long of a period of time.”

Protests have occurred for 41 consecutive nights following the death of George Floyd, a black man who died while a cop kneeled on his neck for eight minutes in Minneapolis, and the protesters are directing their efforts towards destroying federal property.

A group of protesters in Portland have smashed windows and set the Justice Center, a federal building, on fire, KATU reported.

Authorities have run into riots several times and have used tear gas to disperse the violent protesters.

“Quite frankly, this is not sustainable. Violence and damage have displaced the message about systemic change in the wake of the George Floyd murder,” Davis said.

On Tuesday, Oregon’s U.S. attorney announced federal charges against several protesters accused of vandalizing a federal courthouse and assaulting federal officers.

Police have also arrested two people for allegedly setting fire to a North Portland police precinct a week ago. Those two who were arrested were charged with state-level offenses.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) tweeted out a few tips on Saturday to illegal aliens looking to evade sweeps conducted by U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement (ICE) officers.

“Warning: The Trump admin is expected to begin ICE raids across the country TOMORROW, targeting people for round up,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote in the Saturday tweet.

The self-described Democratic socialist then linked to tweets from Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES) and United We Dream— both organizations which posted the locations of the suspected ICE raids.

“NOW is the time for us to come together: – Check in w/ your neighbors – Share “Know Your Rights” info – If you see ICE, report to @UNITEDWEDREAM 1-844-363-1423,” the post continued.

The freshman Democrat continued her series of tweets Saturday, claiming that the Trump administration is running “concentration camps” on the southern border where children do not get “toothpaste or soap.”

Donald Trump Jr. quickly refuted her “concentration camp” claim, sending Ocasio-Cortez a tweet with messages from Holocaust survivors.

Although Ocasio-Cortez and other Democrats have strongly condemned the Trump administration for going after people who stay in the country illegally, their rhetoric did not match up to the reality of Trump’s plan on border enforcement.

Trump announced later on Saturday that he would be delaying the administration’s effort to deport more illegal aliens until both political parties can work out a bipartisan solution to solve the problems at the southern border.
