Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee voted unanimously on Thursday to subpoena the testimonies of Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg after all 10 Democrats boycotted the panel’s hearing to advance the Supreme Court nomination of Amy Coney Barrett.

Republican members want the two CEOs to testify about their handling of a recent series of articles by the New York Post, America’s fourth-largest newspaper, concerning former Vice President Joe Biden’s son Hunter’s business dealings. Both social media sites suppressed the stories.

Zuckerberg and Dorsey are already set to testify before the Senate Commerce Committee next week.

The Judiciary Committee voted to compel the CEOs to testify about their “suppression and/or censorship” of the Post articles, one that alleged Hunter Biden introduced his father to a top executive at Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company where he worked.

Joe Biden repeatedly refused to answer questions about the matter but finally broke his silence Wednesday while doing an interview with a Wisconsin TV station from his Delaware home.

Biden blasted Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), who is using a Senate committee he chairs to probe Hunter Biden, and ripped President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani for peddling “garbage.”

“This is the same garbage—Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s henchman. It’s a last-ditch effort in this desperate campaign to smear me and my family,” Biden said on WISN.

Reporter Adrienne Pedersen said to Biden, “Wisconsin’s Republican senator, Ron Johnson, put out a statement on Homeland Security letterhead saying Hunter Biden, together with other Biden family members, profited off the Biden name.” She asked Biden if there was any “legitimacy” to the claims.

“None whatsoever!” Biden said emphatically.

Biden said Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) has criticized Johnson’s move.

“Even the man who served with him on that committee, the former nominee for the Republican Party, said there’s no basis to this,” Biden said. “And the vast majority of the intelligence people have come out and said there’s no basis at all. Ron should be ashamed of himself!”

Last week, following Twitter’s decision to ban sharing the Post stories about a mystery laptop containing emails that allegedly show international influence peddling by Hunter Biden, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) warned Dorsey that he should expect to be called before the Senate committee to explain his platform’s censorship policies.

Twitter blocked sharing of the Post stories and locked the Post out of its platform after the outlet published the pieces, citing its “hacked materials” policy. After an outcry, Dorsey apologized for censoring the Post’s link, claiming Twitter would update its policies.

“Straight blocking of URLs was wrong, and we updated our policy and enforcement to fix. Our goal is to attempt to add context, and now we have [the] capabilities to do that,” Dorsey tweeted on Friday.

The platform re-activated sharing for the Post’s story late last week. As The Daily Wire reported, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) study released Monday showed that Twitter’s censorship had the precise opposite effect from what was intended and that presumed censorship of “conservative” material “nearly doubled” attention on the Biden allegations.

Most presidential pollsters blew the call in 2016.

But Trafalgar Group chief pollster Robert Cahaly got it mostly right. His group’s polling in 2016 showed Donald Trump leading Hillary Clinton in key battleground states like Pennsylvania, Florida and Michigan on the eve of the election. Trump won all three, despite most polls saying he would lose the states.

Now, Cahaly says Trump is poised to do it again and will top the 270 Electoral College votes needed to win re-election.

“I see the president winning with a minimum of high 270s and possibly going up significantly higher based on just how big this undercurrent is,” Cahaly said on Fox News.

“What we’ve noticed is that these polls are predominantly missing the hidden Trump vote, what [we] refer to as the shy Trump voter,” he said. “There is a clear feeling among conservatives and people that are for the president that they’re not interested in sharing their opinions so readily on the telephone. We’ve seen people be beat up, harassed, doxed, have their houses torn up because they expressed political opinions that are not in line with the politically correct establishment. And so, these people are more hesitant to … participate in polls. So if you’re not compensating for this, if you’re not trying to give them a poll that they can participate in … you’re not going to get honest answers.”

His hypothesis is supported by polls. A survey in July by Monmouth University of 401 Pennsylvania voters found that a majority of voters think there are Trump supporters out there who aren’t being counted.

“The media consistently reports that Biden is in the lead, but voters remember what happened in 2016. The specter of a secret Trump vote looms large in 2020,” said Patrick Murray, director of the independent Monmouth University Polling Institute.

“Most voters (57%) believe there are a number of so-called secret voters in their communities who support Trump but won’t tell anyone about it. Less than half that number (27%) believe there are secret voters for Biden. The suspicion that a secret Trump vote exists is slightly higher in swing counties (62%) and Clinton counties (61%) than in Trump counties (51%),” the pollsters wrote.

The Trafalgar group’s poll of 1,051 likely voters from Oct. 14-16 shows Biden leading Trump in Wisconsin by just over 1 percentage point, 47.5% to 46.3%. Other Trafalgar group polls show Trump ahead of Biden by 1 percentage point in Michigan, 2 points in Florida, and 4 points in both Arizona and Ohio, according to October surveys.

While the Hunter Biden scandal is not on the list of six topics up for discussion at Thursday’s final presidential debate, Cahaly said the issue looms large.

“I think if the president uses it effectively in the debate when a more bipartisan audience is paying attention, and put him on the spot, I think Biden might crack, kind of like he did in the primaries,” Cahaly said. “And if that happens, well, then the mainstream media is going to have to cover it.”

Cahaly said his group conducts surveys in a different way than other pollsters.

“All we focused on was battleground state polls, because when it’s over, in my mind, it’s all about the electoral map and state-by-state Electoral College,” he told Politico last month. “So the big difference was the people they were surveying; and second, and I don’t know who else would agree with this, is the fact that taking people on their face for what they were answering was not a smart move, because people were not being forthright as to who they were supporting.”

Dr. Anthony Fauci says families might have to “bite the bullet” and cancel Thanksgiving this year.

Fauci, an immunologist and director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases who served on the White House Coronavirus Task Force, says COVID-19 is still a menace and the rising number of infections in the U.S. could endanger older people or those with medical maladies.

“You may have to bite the bullet and sacrifice that social gathering, unless you’re pretty certain that the people that you’re dealing with are not infected,” Fauci told CBS News anchor Norah O’Donnell.

“That is unfortunately a risk, when you have people coming from out of town, gathering together in an indoor setting,” he said. “It is unfortunate, because that’s such a sacred part of American tradition — the family gathering around Thanksgiving. But that is a risk.”

“Given the fluid and dynamic nature of what’s going on right now in the spread and the uptick of infections, I think people should be very careful and prudent about social gatherings, particularly when members of the family might be at a risk because of their age or their underlying condition,” Fauci said.

Fauci said COVID-19 cases are rising in 37 states, adding “what we really have to do is double down” as the U.S. moves into winter, urging Americans to continue to continue social distancing, wearing masks and washing hands frequently.

“They sound very simple, but people are not doing that and that’s why we have an uptick in cases,” he said.

Fauci, 79, also said his children, who live in three different states, won’t be coming home for the holiday. “They themselves, because of their concern for me and my age, have decided they’re not going to come home for Thanksgiving — even though all three of them want very much to come home for Thanksgiving,” he said.

The doctor’s remarks came after the head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said small gatherings could spike the spread of COVID-19.

“In the public square, we’re seeing a higher degree of vigilance and mitigation steps in many jurisdictions,” Director Dr. Robert Redfield said during a call with the nation’s governors on Tuesday, audio of which was obtained by CNN.

“But what we’re seeing as the increasing threat right now is actually acquisition of infection through small household gatherings,” Redfield said. “Particularly with Thanksgiving coming up, we think it’s really important to stress the vigilance of these continued mitigation steps in the household setting.”

Redfield’s warning about holiday gathering was emphasized last week by White House Coronavirus Task Force Coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx, who said the holidays will look different this year.

“We know most individuals under 35 will be asymptomatic,” she said during a visit to Plymouth State University in New Hampshire. “That means you don’t have any symptoms, or the symptoms are so mild that you don’t believe it has anything to do with COVID.”

“This virus can spread among families and friends if you take your mask off and you are primarily indoors,” she said, according to WLWT-TV.

Johnny Rotten famously sang “God Save The Queen” back in the heyday of punk in the late 1970s, but in 2020, he’s singing “God Save The President.”

In keeping with the crazy times of this year, even the singer of “Pretty Vacant” is weighing in on the presidential election.

Rotten, whose real name is John Lydon, holds three citizenships — U.S., British and Irish. And he told the BBC he’s “definitely” voting for President Trump in the Nov. 3 election.

“Yes, of course, I’m voting for Trump,” Lydon said in the interview. “He’s an individual thinker, I’ll give him that for a start. He’s not the most lovable fellow on God’s earth, but I cannot see the opposition as offering me anything by way of a solution.”

The singer, who later headed up Public Image Ltd., added that Trump “really is making the country a bit better.”

Lydon, 64, backed Barack Obama in his two elections and Hillary Clinton in 2016. But he said he supports Trump because of the economy.

“I’d be daft as a brush not to,” Lydon said, according to The Guardian. “He’s the only sensible choice now that Biden is up – he’s incapable of being the man at the helm.”

Lydon appears to have started supporting Trump when the president was accused of racism. “I’ve been accused of the very same thing, so I’m offended for anybody who’s called that.” In 2008, Kele Okereke, of Bloc Party, said that members of Lydon’s entourage were racially abusive during a backstage fight at a reunited Sex Pistols festival appearance.

Lydon’s stance isn’t that unexpected. Back in 2018, the singer was photographed wearing a “Make America Great Again” T-shirt.

In the Guardian interview, Lydon also the death of George Floyd, a black man who died on Memorial Day while in the custody of Minneapolis police. “There’s not anyone I know anywhere that wouldn’t say that wasn’t ghastly,” he said. “Absolutely! It doesn’t mean all police are nasty or all white folk are racist. Because all lives matter.”

“Of course I’m anti-racism,” he added.

Lydon co-wrote the punk anthem “God Save the Queen.” And in the interview, he also mused about the royal family, which has been in turmoil of late, with Prince Andrew caught up in the pedophile scandal surrounding Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle leaving Britain for the United States.

“My feeling about the royal family is one of sorrow. I’ve always felt they’re poor little birdies trapped in cages, gold cages, but they’re still entombed.” The interviewer then asked about Markle. “Dreadful person. Very bad actress. But she’s in a masterclass now.”

Lydon also said he doesn’t think Markle has suffered racism. “Stop being self-righteous and smug, that’s what she needs to do. She’s hopping on a cause. There are valid cases out there, genuine people who need help.”

Alex Berenson is an odd creature — he’s a former New York Times reporter who actually doesn’t hate President Donald Trump.

Berenson, author of a dozen spy novels, spends much of his day on Twitter highlighting data as he argues that the media overestimate the risk of COVID-19.

So Berenson was watching when Trump wrote on Twitter: “I will be leaving the great Walter Reed Medical Center today at 6:30 P.M. Feeling really good! Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!”

Berenson responded: “Maybe the smartest comment @realdonaldtrump has ever made. For too long we have let this virus – and the media’s hysteria around it – dominate us. We need to take back our lives, our schools, and our whole world.”

Berenson has coined a perfect name for the mainstream media’s coverage of COVID-19: “Panic Porn.” He has also authored “Unreported Truths” about COVID-19, and he appeared Monday night on “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” where he elaborated on his statement and explained what Trump really meant.

“That might be the most presidential thing this president has ever said,” Berenson said. “He’s not actually saying ‘Don’t be afraid of COVID.’ He’s saying don’t be afraid of one another. Because this is a respiratory virus. It spreads between people. And the only way to make it go away permanently is to lock us all away permanently. And that can’t happen. That is not compatible with life.”

Berenson, who lives new New York City, said when he walked around a “deserted” Times Square at the height of the outbreak, it looked “as if a neutron bomb went off.”

“Six months ago, even then, that response really didn’t make sense but there were reasons for it,” Berenson said. “But we are six months on and we know that if you believe the [World Health Organization] and 750 million people have been infected with this, that the death rate is about 1 in 1000… if you believe in the [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] numbers, it might be 997… it is a tiny death rate. And we have gone crazy and we have sacrificed our kids and we have sacrificed society and Donald Trump walked out of that hospital today and said what needed to be said. We have to stop being so afraid of this.”

“This country — we put people on the moon! We’re the first manned flight in 1903. What has happened to us that this rather dismal virus has scared everyone to death? I do not understand it and we have to get out of this,” Berenson said.

On Monday evening, Trump put out an upbeat video on COVID-19. “One thing that’s for certain: Don’t let it dominate you. Don’t be afraid of it. You’re gonna’ beat it. We have the best medical equipment, we have the best medicines. All developed recently. And you’re gonna’ beat it. I went, I didn’t feel so good. And two days ago, I could have left two days ago. Two days ago I felt great, like better than I have in a long time. I said just recently, better than 20 years ago. Don’t let it dominate, don’t let it take over your lives. Don’t let that happen. We have the greatest country in the world.”

An Ohio woman was tased and handcuffed on Wednesday for not wearing a mask at an outdoor eighth-grade football game, according to reports.

The woman, identified as Alecia Kitts, was reportedly refusing to wear a mask when approached by a school security officer on Wednesday, WTAP-TV reported. The officer “appears to use a taser on the parent, before placing her in handcuffs,” the station said.

In a video shot by another attendee of the game, Kitts yells “Don’t touch me!” as cheerleaders can be heard in the background. “Get off of me! I will not put my hands behind my back!”

The woman taking the video says, “This is over a mask. I don’t think he can arrest her for not wearing a mask. This is not a warning,” she says with a laugh.

In the video, Kitts can be seen sitting far away from other people in the bleachers. As a large male officer and another woman wrestled with her, she yelled, “This is bulls***!”

Kitts then screams as the officer tases her. “They tased someone over a mask,” the woman taking the video says.

“C’mon! It’s just a mask!” another person yells.

Only in LOGAN OHIO does a person get TASED AND ARRESTED for not wearing a freaking MASKHere u can also see very clearly that NEITHER of these cops even had a mask on, (or it was pulled down, serving absolutely no purpose, in the male officers case) yet they’re arresting this girl for not wearing a mask 😳🙄TURN VOLUME UP👮‍♀️ Police brutality at its finestStop messaging me, nothing anyone ever says will justify what that cop did.

Posted by Tiffany Lynn on Wednesday, September 23, 2020

Kitts is reportedly the parent of a child in the Marietta City Schools (MCS) and had traveled to an away game in Logan.

“I’m grateful that it didn’t happen in Marietta, but it saddens me that it was Marietta that caused it in Logan,” MCS Athletic Director Cody Venderlic told The Marietta Times. “As athletic directors, we’ve talked about this too and the biggest challenge about dealing with visiting fans is people behave much better at home than when they’re on the road.”

Monte Bainter, superintendent for the Logan-Hocking Local School District, confirmed the incident happened and released this statement, according to WBNS-TV:

During a middle school football game held at Logan-Hocking Local School District on the evening of Sept. 23, 2020, an attendee was asked to comply with the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s and the athletic facility’s policies. The attendee refused to do so and consequently was asked to leave by the attending law enforcement officer. After resisting the request to exit the premises, the individual was apprehended at the discretion of the attending law enforcement officer. The school district is not able to comment further on details of the incident due to the ongoing investigation.

“The superintendent also confirms the law enforcement officer seen in the video is the school resource officer who was on duty at the time,” the station reported.

Said Vederlic: The governor and the [Ohio] health department have made it very clear that masks are required indoor and outdoor at sports facilities. They’re just part of the expectation.”

The incident follows another in Arlington, Virginia, where a father says his 9-year-old son was sent home from his elementary school because he sneezed.

The fourth grade student at Bishop Elementary School was told he can’t return until he gets a negative COVID-19 test.

“I sneezed two times then the teacher told me to go to the nurse,” said Lancinet Keita, according to CBS.

On September 11, the 19th anniversary of the day nearly 3,000 people in America were killed in terrorist attacks by radical Islamists, filmmaker Michael Moore likened President Trump to Osama bin Laden, calling him a “mass killer.”

“My friends. This is murder. In the extreme,” Moore said in an “Emergency Podcast Episode” of RUMBLE, referring to the death toll of COVID-19.

Moore acknowledged that the president didn’t kill Americans “with his own hands,” but said like bin Laden — who masterminded the 2001 attacks — Trump bears responsibility.

“I can tell you for a fact that Osama Bin Laden did not fly a single one of those God damn airplanes. So he’s innocent? No. Trump is a mass killer,” Moore said. “Trump stood down and knowingly allowed 200,000 Americans to die. That is 67 9/11s. Take the dead of this day, take the dead of 9/11, multiply it by 67 times and that’s how many people have died of the coronavirus. Trump knew. So much could have been avoided.”

The left-wing director also said, “no American other than Confederate President Jefferson Davis and his General Robert E. Lee has killed more Americans than Donald J. Trump.”

“Think about that. Civil War. 600,000 plus dead. Thank you, Jefferson Davis and Robert E. Lee. We’re heading over 200,000,” Moore said.

Moore also referred to reports that Trump knew the virus would have severe consequences but chose to present an optimistic picture to Americans. “What if he had chosen to do what any other decent, sane, moral person would have done when informed about this national security threat?” Moore asked.

The director also warned backers of Joe Biden not to waste their time trying to persuade Trump supporters to join them. “You need to spend all that energy on getting out the people who are probably not going to vote — the people who need to join you and me and remove this son of a b****,” he said.

Moore’s comments come a couple of weeks after he said Trump is on course to win re-election in November.

“Are you ready for a Trump victory? Are you mentally prepared to be outsmarted by Trump again? Do you find comfort in your certainty that there is no way Trump can win? Are you content with the trust you’ve placed in the DNC to pull this off?” he wrote in a post on Facebook.

“I’m warning you almost 10 weeks in advance. The enthusiasm level for the 60 million in Trump’s base is OFF THE CHARTS! For Joe, not so much,” Moore wrote. “Don’t leave it to the Democrats to get rid of Trump. YOU have to get rid of Trump. WE have to wake up every day for the next 67 days and make sure each of us are going to get a hundred people out to vote. ACT NOW!”

“All of us have to really be in fighting mode because he is. He knows his people,” Moore added. “He will get all of that 44-46 percent out. He just needs a couple more percent of the people on his side who stayed home last time.”

Thousands of people have signed a petition calling for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to be prosecuted for “COVID violations” after she visited a hair salon ordered closed by the California governor — without a mask.

More than 17,000 people have signed the petition, which sets a 25,000-signature goal to urge San Francisco Police Chief William Scott to prosecute the California Democrat.

The petition includes a letter addressed to Scott, which says, “Laws aren’t just for the ‘little people.’”

“Not only did Nancy Pelosi knowingly violate health ordinances, but just destroyed a business because she couldn’t take a ounce of responsibility. At a very minimum, Nancy Pelosi must be prosecuted by San Francisco for her flaunting of COVID regulations. Now!”

Pelosi, who has supported full lockdowns over COVID-19 and advocates a national mask policy, was caught last week dropping into the hair salon and walking around without a mask.

In security footage obtained by Fox News, Pelosi can be seen walking through the eSalon in San Francisco without a mask. Ironically, during an appearance on MSNBC that same night, Pelosi blasted President Trump for delivering his Republican National Convention acceptance speech before a live audience on the White House South Lawn, where many people were not wearing masks.

The 81-year-old career politician, who got a wash and a blow out at the salon, took a few days to come up with a defense: It was all a setup.

“I take responsibility for trusting the word of the neighborhood salon that I’ve been to over the years many times, and when they said, ‘We’re able to accommodate people one person at a time.’ I trusted that,” the speaker said, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

“So I take responsibility for falling for a setup. And that’s all I’m going to say on that,” Pelosi said. “I think that this salon owes me an apology, for setting me up.”

Meanwhile, as the petition notes, “the salon owner gets death threats, while Pelosi has paid ZERO price for her hypocrisy.”

Salon owner Erica Kious said Wednesday that she is closing her business for good after the controversy.

“I am actually done in San Francisco and closing my doors, unfortunately,” she said on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

“I started to just get a ton of phone calls, text messages, emails, all my Yelp reviews… saying that they hope I go under and that I fail,” Kious said. “So just a lot of negativity towards my business.”

“I’m actually afraid to go back, just because of the messages and emails I’ve been getting,” she added. “It’s a little scary and sad. I do have a lot of positive calls and text messages from clients, but other than that, nothing but negativity.”

Kious has gotten some help from supporters. A GoFundMe page set up in wake of the scandal reached its target of $300,000.

Joe Biden, the 77-year-old career politician who Democrats have picked as their 2020 presidential candidate, won’t be coming out of his basement anytime soon.

Biden on Tuesday said he won’t hold any presidential campaign rallies during the COVID-19 panic, even though President Trump has already returned to the campaign trail.

“This is the most unusual campaign I think in modern history,” said Barack Obama’s vice president as he answered questions from the media from his home in Delaware.

“I’m going to follow the doc’s orders — not just for me but for the country — and that means that I am not going to be holding rallies,” said Biden, who said he has not been tested for COVID-19.

Biden told reporters on Tuesday that he’d miss hobnobbing with people on the trail.

During such trips, Biden said “we keep social distancing. Everybody has masks on. Soon as I finish saying something, I put my mask back on… I have traveled, but when I do, I get in, make my case, and take questions and leave. But you know me: I’d much rather be out there with people because that’s where I get the greatest feel.”

Since March, when the coronavirus began sweeping across the U.S., Biden’s campaign has been conducted almost exclusively online, including holding interviews with the press, fundraisers and television appearances from a homemade studio in his Delaware home.

Biden said that so far, the process is working.

“They tell me 200 million people have watched what I have done from home and the half a dozen things we’ve gone out and done,” Biden said. “And so the irony is I think we’re probably communicating directly, in detail, with more people than we would have otherwise. But I’d much rather be doing it in-person.”

The Democratic candidate has made a few trips to some key states, including Texas and Pennsylvania, but the campaign events were small, with participants wearing masks and adhering to social distancing requirements.

Biden this week pushed back on the notion that he is losing his mental acuity, telling reporters he is “constantly testing” for cognitive decline.

“Some have speculated that you are subject to some degree of cognitive decline,” Fox News’ Doug McElway said. “I’m 65, I don’t have word recollection that I used to have, I forgot my train of thought from time to time. You got 12 years on me, sir. Have you been tested for some degree of cognitive decline?”

“I’ve been tested and I’m constantly tested,” Biden said. “Look, all you got to do is watch me and I can hardly wait to compare my cognitive capability to the cognitive capability of the man I’m running against.”

A recent Zogby International poll of 1,007 “likely voters” found that 55% said they think the former vice president “is in the early stages of dementia.”

President Trump’s approval rating on the economy has soared to an all-time high, according to a CNN poll released on Thursday.

In the survey, 56 percent said they approve of the way Trump in handling of the economy, compared with 41 percent who disapproved. Trump has consistently been in the mid-40s and low 50s throughout his term, but the 56 percent rating is a new high.

“Here’s is the Trump card for the president: 56 percent of Americans approve how he’s handling the economy,” gushed CNN’s political director David Chalian in a report about the poll. “This is the highest number we’ve ever seen in CNN polling. … That 56 percent, if you stack it up historically, it’s the high-water mark in the entirety of the Trump presidency in CNN polling.

“As you know — James Carville made famous — ‘it’s the economy, stupid.’ We know the sensibility about the economy heading into an election matters a ton,” Chalian said.

The numbers were high, even though the methodology said that of the 1,007 people surveyed, “33% described themselves as Democrats, 26% described themselves as Republicans, and 41% described themselves as independents or members of another party.”

Meanwhile, as CNN hit new lows in its ratings, another poll released on Wednesday showed Trump’s overall approval rating has hit the highest level in two years, at 43 percent. That rating is the highest since an April 2017 CNN poll, which came about 100 days mark of his presidency.

On Monday, Trump wrote on Twitter that yet another poll had good news as well. “Gallup Poll: 56% of Americans rate their financial situation as excellent or good. This is the highest number since 2002, and up 10 points since 2016.

“A majority of Americans, 56%, rate their current financial situation as ‘excellent’ (12%) or ‘good’ (44%), while 29% rate it as ‘only fair’ and 15% as ‘poor.’ This overall positive rating has increased 10 percentage points since 2015 and is currently the highest since 2002, though it is statistically unchanged since last year. Likewise, the 57% of Americans who now say their overall financial situation is getting better has risen 10 points since 2016 and is at its highest numerical point since 2002,” Gallup wrote.

Asked about the new numbers, White House acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney also quoted Carville, the top architect of Bill Clinton’s victory in 1992.

“You hate to sound like a cliché, but are you better off than you were four years ago? It’s pretty simple, right? It’s the economy, stupid. I think that’s easy. People will vote for somebody they don’t like if they think it’s good for them,” Mulvaney said.

As Trump’s numbers go up, CNN’s numbers go down. The liberal network’s prime-time ratings plunged 26 percent in April, compared to 2018. MSNBC’s ratings, meanwhile, fell 14 percent compared to last year.
According to Nielsen Media Research’s ratings, CNN suffered its lowest-rated month in viewers since October 2015. CNN had just 767,000 average primetime viewers, down from 1.04 million in April 2018. “In the 25- to 54-year-old demographic that advertisers covet most, it was the network’s least-watched month since Aug. 2015,” The Hill reported.

In prime time, Fox News beat CNN and MSNBC for the 208th month in a row. MNSBC had double the viewership of CNN — and Fox News tripled CNN total viewers.
