Dr. Jill Biden, the wife of presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden, confirmed Tuesday that her husband will show up to all three scheduled presidential debates.

In an appearance on Fox News’ “The Daily Briefing” with Dana Perino, Biden’s wife was immediately asked if her husband would show up and take on President Donald Trump at the three scheduled presidential debates following speculation they could be canceled.

“Oh yes,” Biden said. “He will. I think it’s three debates that they decided on. Yeah. He’ll be there.”

The question comes as Democratic strategists and supporters of Biden have said he should not debate Trump.

In June, Biden’s campaign committed to three debates with Trump before the election in November. Trump’s campaign requested four live debates against Biden, the New York Times reported. The four debates would be one more debate than nominees of both parties usually have before the general election. However, the Biden campaign has only committed to the three.

“Joe Biden looks forward to facing Donald Trump in a multi-debate series that the American people have come to expect from their leaders; we hope that President Trump would not break that tradition or make excuses for a refusal to participate,” Biden campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon wrote in a letter to the nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates” in June.

The presidential debates are scheduled for Sept. 29, Oct. 15, and Oct. 22. The moderators have not yet been announced.

Former 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders’ campaign co-chair Nina Turner on Monday compared voting for 2020 presidential nominee Joe Biden to “eating a bowl of shit.”

In an Atlantic piece titled “Don’t Count Trump Out,” Turner was asked about voting for Biden, to which she said: “It’s like saying to somebody, ‘You have a bowl of shit in front of you, and all you’ve got to do is eat half of it instead of the whole thing.’ It’s still shit.”

This is not the first time Turner has criticized Biden. In January she said that Biden “repeatedly betrayed black voters” in an op-ed published in the South Carolina newspaper The State.

In the op-ed, Turner blasted Biden’s opposition to forced desegregation busing and for working with segregationist senators, saying: “Biden didn’t just vote for bills designed to prevent black students from accessing white schools: in a series of personal letters he actively courted pro-segregation senators to support the legislation.”

2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden said Monday that he wishes schools in the U.S. taught more about the Islamic faith.

Biden was speaking at Emgage Action’s virtual “Million Muslim Votes Summit” when he said: “I wish we were taught more in our schools about the Islamic faith.”

“Look, one of the things that I think is important is I wish we taught more in our schools about the Islamic faith. I wish we talked about all the great confessional faiths — it’s one of the great confessional faiths, and what people don’t realize is one of my avocations is theology, don’t realize is that we all come from the same root here in terms of our fundamental basic beliefs and I just want to thank you for giving me the opportunity, for being engaged, for committing to action this November,” Biden said at the beginning of his speech to the group.

“You’re doing what has never been done before. You’re registering and turning out more than 1 million Muslim voters this November. It matters. Your voice — your voice — is your vote, your vote is your voice,” Biden continued.

This comes as President Donald Trump has been pushing for students to return to schools during the coronavirus pandemic, as they were closed down when the virus began to pick up in the U.S. Many schools have discussed online programs instead of in-person teaching.

Former Special Counsel Robert Mueller will testify before Congress, House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler and Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff announced Tuesday.

Mueller will appear in an open session July 17 after being subpoenaed by two committees, lawmakers announced Tuesday night.

“The American public deserves to hear directly from you about your investigation and conclusions,” Nadler and Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff said in a joint letter.

Mueller defended the report of his investigation into the Trump campaign at a press conference, saying he found no collusion between Russia and the campaign, and that he would be “formally closing the special counsel’s office” and “resigning from the Department of Justice to return to private life.”

Mueller also said that “there was insufficient evidence to charge a broader conspiracy.” He also clarified that, in the event Congress issues a subpoena for him to testify, “the report is my testimony.” It will be harder for Congress to get Mueller to appear since he has resigned and is now a private citizen.

Nadler said in early April, after Attorney General William Barr addressed the media, that he wanted Mueller to testify before the committee as soon as possible.

The New York Democrat also called on Mueller to testify in front of the group, after earlier calls from Georgia Republican Rep. Doug Collins, the top Republican on the committee. Collins asked Nadler to “immediately” invite Mueller to testify before Congress. However, Mueller is not scheduled to testify.

After Barr announced there was no collusion or obstruction committed by Trump or the Trump campaign, Nadler said that the findings were still unclear and that Congress must hear from Mueller in order to better understand the results.

Regardless of the report’s findings, Nadler requested a number of documents from the White House and sent letters seeking information from people and organizations close to Trump on March 4.

Nadler sent the 81 requests to groups, individual people, and organizations, searching for any evidence of Constitutional abuses and corruption committed by Trump. The New York Democrat said the requests for documents are intended to “begin investigations, to present the case to the American people about obstruction of justice, about corruption and abuse of power.”

Democrats and cable news pundits have continued to say the Mueller report is a cover-up.
