During a Sunday interview on Fox News, Biden campaign surrogate Jenna Arnold attempted to spin the New York Post’s stories about Hunter Biden selling the Ukrainians access to his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden. According to Arnold, the emails are “unconfirmed” yet she failed to say whether or not they were actually Hunter’s.

She said she appreciated the Trump campaign being pressed on the issue “that so much of this is unconfirmed.”

“Jenna, it’s real simple. You’re saying it’s unconfirmed. Tell us what parts are not true,” Vittert hit back. “Hunter Biden knows what emails he has and hasn’t sent. Are you saying, and the campaign saying, these emails aren’t his?”

Instead of giving a firm “yes” or “no” to the question, Arnold attempted to spin.

“It’s unclear to me – I would say what’s so important right now, from the American citizen and the media – yourself included, Leland – is to continue to ask clarifying questions about this, why the FBI is investigating,” she said.

“Whoa. Whoa. Whoa,” Vittert interjected.

“It’s imperative to know that the NSA told Trump that Giuliani was being played by these emails –” she went on.

“Again, Jenna, Jenna, Jenna. The easiest thing in the world to do: stop with all the obfuscation. The easiest thing in the world to do would be to say, ‘These aren’t Hunter Biden’s emails,'” the Fox News host explained. “Nobody, including Hunter Biden, and including the campaign, has said it.”

The one time that Biden was asked about it, by a CBS reporter, the former vice president attacked him, saying this was part of his personal “smear campaign.”

“The question is this: I thought demonizing the media was a threat to our democracy. Every time President Trump attacks the media, Democrats – and yourself included – can’t wait to yell about that. Don’t the American people deserve something better than the former vice president attacking the person who asked a legitimate question?” Vittert asked.

Of course, Arnold made the claim that Biden “didn’t attack” the CBS reporter. Instead he called the question “fake news.”

Vittert reread Biden’s statement.

“‘It’s another smear campaign. Right up your alley. Those are the questions you always ask.’ That kind of sounds like an attack to me,” the Fox News host said.

Arnold shook her head, saying she doesn’t consider it to be an attack. Instead, she said the Trump campaign has launched attacks on Biden by comparing the Chinese Communist Party to Nazi Germany.

Interestingly enough, she attempted to divert the conversation to the coronavirus of all things.

“I’m so confused,” Vittert said, trying to follow Arnold’s logic. “I feel like you still haven’t answered the fundamental question, which is: can anyone say that these emails are inauthentic? And so far I haven’t heard anyone say that.”

Arnold herself admitted that Vittert was right: nobody is saying they are inauthentic.

Last month, riots broke out in Lancaster, Pa. after a police officer shot 27-year-old Ricardo Munoz. According to reports, the police officer fired his weapon because Munoz was chasing him with a knife. Fast forward a month later and the police chief, Jarrad Berkihiser, was forced to resign. The reason? His wife supporters President Donald Trump.

According to the WHTM-TV, Kristy Berkihiser posted a status on Facebook saying she planned to vote for President Trump because of his support for the men and women in blue, including her husband. When Lancaster’s Democratic Mayor Danene Sorace received wind of the comments, she told the chief to resign.

“This was an unjust situation that he was placed in, a clear violation of his rights,” John Fiorill, the previous president of the local Fraternal Order of Police, told WHTM-TV. “He was advised by the mayor that she wanted his resignation, based on those statements made on Facebook, not by Chief Berkihiser, but by Chief Berkihiser’s wife.”

Mrs. Berkihiser took issue with her husband, a 26-year veteran of the department, being forced to resign. She shared a status on Facebook about the ordeal, saying Jarrad was being punished for something she said. What made it even more frustrating was “less than a month ago [he] received national recognition for ‘saving’ our city after riots following a police involved shooting.”

Resident Katie Fisher started a petition for Berkihiser’s reinstatement. She highlighted his record that has been a win for the city:

Some of Berkihiser’s accomplishments in the past three years as Chief of Police include: implementing a department-wide body-camera program, improving the department’s use-of-force policy, creating a community engagement sergeant position, and hiring the city’s first police Social Worker. Chief Berkihiser also met with protestors and marched with them following the killing of George Floyd, with intentionality of bridging the gap between law enforcement and the community.

As of now, the petition has more than 15,000 signatures.

What’s infuriating about this is the police chief is being punished for his spouse’s comments and ideas. It would be different if Chief Berkihiser posted these things himself but he didn’t. Every single person has the ability to think for themselves and come up with their own views on issues and politics.

Would the reaction have been the same if Kristy Berkihiser made a post saying she backed Joe Biden? Or is this about how much hate people have for President Trump?

At the end of the day, it shouldn’t matter how someone’s spouse feels about politics. If Berkihiser has been successful in his job – which it sounds like he has – then he shouldn’t be pushed aside for political gains. Let him lead the police force. Let him continue to strive for positive changes.

It’s this kind of intolerance that has lead to our nation’s demise.

Former Vice President Joe Biden has repeatedly defended so-called “peaceful protestors,” you know, the violent mobs that set up police-free zones in Seattle, burned parts of Kenosha and heckled people all across America. Instead of condemning their violence and standing up for the men and women in blue, Biden has gone to bat for these thugs.

After all that, Biden, for whatever reason, believes that he can bridge the cap between law enforcement and the violent mob.

“I’m going to do what I’ve done in the past: I’m going to bring all these interests together: peaceful protestors, police chiefs, police officers, the police unions as well as the civil rights group – in the White House,” he explained during a town hall on Monday night. “And sit down and decide what are the things that need to be done to improve and help police officers?”

“I’m the only one who’s talked about increasing police budgets. When your husband goes on a call that is, in fact, a 911 call, is better if he or she has with them a psychologist or psychiatrist with them, someone who knows how to deal with someone who’s not all there,” the former vice president explained.

Biden said he also wants to see a large chunk of change thrown at “community policing.”

“The idea is you get the police, you get the law enforcement together, with the community, so they know one another,” he said. “Because that kid walking across the street with a hoodie on may be the next [inaudible]. It doesn’t mean that child is going to be trouble.”

If Biden was this great unifier, why have police unions endorsed President Trump? If Biden had cops’ back, why are they giving him a cold shoulder? If Biden was all about protecting communities, why didn’t he try to bridge the divide earlier in the year, like after the death of George Floyd? Instead, he remained silent. He said nothing. And when he was asked about rioters, he called them “peaceful” (even though they were looting, burning down buildings and rioting).

What’s he trying to do now? Play both sides of the coin. He’s trying to say he supports the men and women who make up our law enforcement agencies but he also backs rioters. He’s trying to say that he is somehow a leader who has this unique ability to bring everyone together from all sides of the aisle and the issue. And that couldn’t be further from the truth.

The left continually tells us that “climate change” is the reason behind wildfires. In fact, Washington State Gov. Jay Inslee (D) even went so far as saying we should call them “climate fires.”

Most of the West Coast – Washington State, Oregon, California, and Idaho – are on fire. While the left is pushing their climate change theory, police are arresting arsonists for sparking these dangerous fires.

Oregon – Almeda Fire

A 41-year-old man was arrested in Oregon for starting one of the two origins of the Almeda fire, located just outside of Medford. Oregon State Fire Marshal’s office spokesman Rich Tyler said Michael Jarrod Bakkela started one of the fires, which eventually merged to create one giant wildfire.

Neighbors saw Bakkela set a fire outside of his home. When the blaze grew out of control, those neighbors had to flee the scene, Oregon Live reported. When the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department arrived on scene, they saw Bakkela standing next to a large fire.

According to the Record Searchlight, roughly 80,000 people had to evacuate because of the fire that has destroyed more than 5,700 acres. Bakkela is being held on 15 counts of criminal mischief and 14 counts of reckless endangerment. Four people have died from the Almeda fire.

Oregon – Brush Fires

Portland authorities arrested 45-year-old Domingo Lopez, Jr. for allegedly starting a brush fire with a Molotov cocktail. He ignited the device along I-205 but firefighters were able to extinguish the flames before the fire grew out of control.

A witness came forward, pointing out Lopez as the suspect. When confronted, Lopez reportedly admitted to starting the fire, KATU-TV reported.

Lopez was released Monday. It wasn’t long before authorities arrested him again for starting six more brush fires along I-205. Portland Fire put out three of the fires while members of the community put out the other three.

Authorities took Lopez to a nearby hospital for a mental health evaluation. They are also considering what charges to press against the arsonist. He did, however, receive six citations for reckless burning.

California

A woman in Monterey County, California was arrested on suspicion of intentionally starting fires along the 101 freeway. The woman was identified as 37-year-old Anita Esquivel, KION-TV reported.

Washington State

Washington State Troopers in Puyallup arrested multiple people attempting to start fires along the interstate.

According to KIRO-TV, a bystander Facebook Lived the second incident.

“I’m out here on 167 right now,” the man said in the live stream. ” Looks like a fire literally just started and I just rolled up on it and it looks like it’s going crazy. I’m here with the police and they’re talking to me about it because I just called it in.”

The man reportedly pulled up, poured gasoline next to a business and set it on fire.

Even though arson has played a major role in the fires on the West Coast, the FBI in Portland has debunked the theory that Antifa is setting them.

And remember, the El Dorado Fire in California started on accident, during a gender reveal party. The couple doing throwing the party used a pyrotechnic device that displays a colored smoke.

Regardless of who started these fires or why, these need to be part of the conversation. Automatically attributing wildfires to climate change is irresponsible. And it’s a way for the left to push their Green New Deal agenda.

Just look at what former Vice President Joe Biden is running with, as recently as today:

Two women were arrested outside of the Mother’s grocery store in Costa Mesa, California on Saturday. According to the women, they went into the grocery store without a mask on, at which point the store manager locked them inside. The manager reportedly called the police, at which point the women were arrested and escorted to police vehicles.

A person at the scene provided video of the incident to TheBlaze’s Elijah Schaffer:

The OC Register said it’s unclear why the women were arrested. People were protesting ongoing Wuhan coronavirus restrictions across the street at the time of the incident.

According to the City of Costa Mesa’s website, the mask mandate was put in place to prevent the spread of the Wuhan coronavirus.

“The intent of this order is not to issue fines. The intent is to reduce the spread of the virus that has infected more than 4 million Americans and claimed more than 140,000 lives in the U.S., including more than 500 lives in Orange County,” the website states. “However, fines can be issued, especially for repeat offenders who jeopardize public health by not wearing a face covering around others.”

The city took to Twitter to remind residents and visitors that they are required to wear a face mask or covering or face a $100 fine. The Los Angeles Times reported that fines could be up to $1,000 if need be.

Local leaders need to get to the bottom of this and find out what happened. For one, if the store manager really did lock these women inside the store until police came, all because they weren’t wearing a mask, that sounds like false imprisonment. The order talks about fines, not arrests. And it’s up to police to enforce the policy, not business owners.

This is an example of what goes wrong when business owners are policing things. But what’s even scarier is no one is talking about the medical exemptions that need to be made for those with health issues. These women look healthy but they could have a breathing issue or severe asthma. They could have a health-related condition that prevents them from wearing a mask. Maskers jump to the conclusion that those who refuse to wear masks are doing so because they’re selfish and only care about themselves. The truth is we don’t know why they aren’t wearing a mask. But we need to stop jumping to conclusions one way or another. And we need to remind people that it’s not business owners’ job to act as police.

Conservative, Trump-supporting Miss Michigan, Kathy Zhu, was stripped of her crown on Thursday. According to the Miss World America (MWA) pageant, Zhu had her title revoked because her “social media accounts contain offensive, insensitive and inappropriate content.”

Zhu shared the letter she received from the organization on Twitter:

Zhu responded to the letter, addressing the so-called “inappropriate” tweets.

“A muslim woman tried to FORCIBLY put a hijab on my head without my permission. I tweeted about it on my social media account, and it got the attention of the media,” Zhu said. “Almost everyone was supportive of me refusing to be put in that situation. Are the people in the MWA implying that they advocate for the punishment of women who refuse to wear a hijab?”

According to the Detroit Free Press, the Muslim Student Association was celebrating World Hijab Day on campus. That’s when the incident took place and she followed up with her experiences on Twitter:

There is a ‘try a hijab on’ booth at my college campus.

So you’re telling me that it’s now just a fashion accessory and not a religious thing? Or are you just trying to get women used to being oppressed under Islam?

Zhu responded to someone, reminding them that women in the Middle East are frequently punished and stoned for refusing to wear a hijab.

“I said that it was (getting women used to) being oppressed because there are so many women in Middle Eastern countries that are being punished and stoned for refusing to wear a hijab,” Zhu told the Free Press. “Nobody is talking about that in the West because all they see is everyone being at peace, but that is the beauty of America.”

The other tweet the organization took issue with had to do with black-on-black crime:

Did you know the majority of black deaths are caused by other blacks? Fix problems within your own community before blaming others.

Zhu shared screen captures of her conversation with Michigan’s state director about what took place.

This is the epitome of hypocrisy. What happened to being tolerant of other people’s personal beliefs? Zhu has a right to her own personal beliefs, including refusing to wear a hijab. That’s not being intolerant. That’s her respecting her own personal beliefs and convictions. But apparently those don’t matter because she’s conservative and refuses to give into the left’s attempts at pushing her into “cultural appreciation.”

Congrats, Miss World America, you’re okay with protecting only certain points of view. So much for being tolerant and inclusive.

Iran announced on Sunday they were hours away from breaching another aspect of the 2015 nuclear deal that was established. The country is planning to increase its amount of uranium enrichment, putting them over the cap established cap. This puts Iran closer to establishing a nuclear bomb, although they still have a ways to go, the New York Times reported.

The move is part of a bigger plan. According to Deputy Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, Iran will continue to increase accord limits over 60-day intervals until their country receives sanction relief.

From the Times:

In violating the limits on uranium enrichment, Tehran still remains far from producing a nuclear weapon. It would take a major production surge, and enrichment to far higher levels, for Iran to develop a bomb’s worth of highly enriched uranium, experts say. It would take even longer to manufacture that material into a nuclear weapon.

But for Iran’s president, Hassan Rouhani, who signaled in May that he would order the country’s engineers to cross both thresholds if Europe did not compensate Iran for American sanctions, the breach of the enrichment limit would be a watershed. He is betting that the United States will back away from crushing sanctions or that he can split European nations from the Trump administration, which the Europeans blame for setting off the crisis.

If he is wrong, the prospect of military confrontation lurks over each escalation.

French President Emmanuel Macron asked Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to decide by July 15th if a new deal could take place. Rouhani agreed but said “lifting all sanctions can be the beginning of a move between Iran and the six major powers.”

The Trump administration has placed pressure on Rouhani to come to the table to make another agreement, but one that places even more restrictions on Iran. President Trump made the decision in 2018 to remove the United States from the Iran nuclear deal, although some European countries are still part of the pact. Instead of staying with the agreement, Trump has slapped additional sanctions against Iran. The move came after Iran shot down an American drone.

President Donald Trump delivered a speech to the Republican Jewish Coalition on Saturday. During his remarks he took the opportunity to mock Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), the Congresswoman who believes people hold a dual allegiance to the United States and Israel if they are pro-Israel.

“And a special thanks to Rep. Omar of Minnesota. Oh, oh — oh, I forgot. She doesn’t like Israel, I forgot. I’m so sorry. Oh,” Trump mocks. “No she doesn’t like Israel, does she?”

Of course, Democrats were quick to slam Trump for his comments.

For some reason, Democrats seem to think that if anyone criticizes Rep. Omar that they’re suddenly advocating for violence against her. They seem to think Trump saying Omar doesn’t like Israel is condemning what death threats she received on Friday. But it doesn’t.

It is possible to slam Omar for her anti-Semitic tropes. It is possible to condone someone sending her death threats because they disagree with her policies.

Why is it so hard for Democrats to see that not everything is as black and white as they like to make it?
