Remember how Maricopa County, a GOP stronghold in Arizona, absolutely refused to conduct a full scale audit on the Dominion voting system used in the state? Remember how they essentially claimed there was no election fraud at all in Arizona?

Part of Trump’s efforts to ensure a lawful election included calling for an audit in Maricopa County, which the county officials refused. Furthermore, Arizona Republican leaders had also called for an audit, with the Senate Government Chairperson Michelle Ugenti-Rita insisting upon the importance of public confidence (which the Democrats could clearly care less about).

However, some Arizona officials supported an audit and backed Trump, and they eventually did receive the right to conduct some auditing, though not to the degree wished for by the Trump administration.

Through the efforts of Ugenti-Rita, an “independent audit” of Dominion did occur, though not the full scale forensic audit that would really dig deeply into the entrails of potential deception and technical manipulation. Nonetheless, Utenti-Rita essentially called the independent audit a step in the right direction.

“As a longtime advocate for improving and modernizing our election system, I am pleased to learn that the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors is supportive of conducting an independent audit of their voting software and equipment …

It is important we maintain all of the voting public’s confidence in our elections and this is a positive first step in the right direction.” [Source: The Center Square]

Exactly right. A “step” in the right direction, but not a complete pursuit in the right direction, given how much the Democrats stymied any attempt to question highly questionable election procedures, notably last minute changes to various laws regarding ballots and voting.

However, an independent audit is not enough to provide the evidence that Democrats keep gloating that Trump lacks, though Democrats may want to stop gloating in light of a new revelation in Maricopa County, Arizona.

Now, out of the clear blue sky (or fossil fuel-blackened sky, per Democrats’ morbid handwringing over “climate change”), Maricopa County has suddenly decided that it’s a good time to conduct a “full forensic audit of its voting machines.”

“Maricopa County elections were administered with integrity throughout 2020. That’s a fact. Multiple audits to date have proved as much, and multiple court rulings have concurred …

“It’s also true that a significant number of voters want the additional assurance that a full forensic audit of tabulation equipment might bring, especially given all the misinformation that spread following the November 3 election. This audit shows our commitment to providing that assurance.” [Source: The Blaze]

Wow. So, in other words, start with the effectively baseless claim that there was nothing but utter integrity in Maricopa County in 2020, which was a key county for Trump … but the state officials are going to go ahead and conduct a “full forensic audit of tabulation equipment.”

That’s nice. It’s a real shame that the “tabulation equipment” apparently couldn’t be scrutinized in the height of Trump’s rightful legal challenges to the result, but, then again, the swamp will not have it any other way.

Maricopa County should also be lauded for standing up to the Arizona Senate. Just a week ago, the Arizona Senate proclaimed that Maricopa County had supposedly agreed to drop the legal fight regarding voting machines, election materials, and other related items.

However, Maricopa County quickly put the Arizona Senate in its place, noting that they did not make any sort of agreement to stop the legal fight. On the contrary, they indicated they intend to keep pursuing their legal options.

“The Board of Supervisors through its legal team continues to negotiate in good faith with the representatives of the Arizona State Senate President …

The parties are working toward an agreement which delivers some of the requested documents and information while protecting voter privacy and the integrity of election equipment. We look forward to reaching consensus on these matters.” [Source: AZ Mirror]

Now, a week later, the American public can see that Maricopa County meant business. Just a few days after this statement, Maricopa County made moves towards a full-scale forensic audit, and now that the audit has been formally announced, perhaps it will ruffle the feathers, and likely the fears, of Democrats still pursuing a laughable impeachment trial.

After all, who knows what a full forensic audit review of Dominion may reveal … just in time for Impeachment 2.0.
