While questionable Mitch McConnell might support the rather absurd Impeachment 2.0 (and Rep. Cheney fully supportive of the impeachment of Trump), Mike Pence just took a defiant stand against Nancy Pelosi in her rather zealous efforts to impeach a sitting president with barely a week left in office.
And, Pelosi being Pelosi, she has aimed for a two-prong attack on Trump: First, she has demanded for Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment; second, she has threatened impeachment if Pence does not invoke the 25th Amendment.
On top of that, Pelosi already drew up articles of impeachment while awaiting Pence’s response. Apparently, Pelosi deigns to work when it’s a work of destruction, which is quite clear from her rather dramatic letter demanding Trump’s imminent impeachment.
“In his conduct while President of the United States — and in violation of his constitutional oath faithfully to execute the office of President of the United States, and to the best of his ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in violation of his constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed, Donald John Trump engaged in high Crimes and Misdemeanors by inciting violence against the Government of the United States.” [Source: Fox News]
Hm. Ok. So, Trump’s tweets clearly called for peace; his speeches clearly called for peace; and virtually any other form of communication from the President has always urged peace. Would Ms. Pelosi kindly point to the exact words Trump used to incite violence?
As literally no one in the fake news media, or the entirety of the swamp for that matter, is able to do so. And that’s because Trump never incited violence.
“Thus incited by President Trump, members of the crowd he had addressed, in an attempt to, among other objectives, interfere with the Joint Session’s solemn constitutional duty to certify the results of the 2020 presidential election, unlawfully breached and vandalized the Capitol, injured and killed law enforcement personnel, menaced Members of Congress, the Vice President and Congressional personnel, and engaged in other violent, deadly, destructive, and seditious acts.” [Source: Fox News]
Now hold on just a second, Ms. Pelosi. You seriously have the gall to mention “killed law enforcement personnel” in this letter? Were you asleep for the entirety of 2020? As in asleep through the nightly riots that openly called for the death of law enforcement officers, and, in more than one tragic case, resulted in the death, disability, or otherwise egregious harm to law enforcement officers?
So, no words whatsoever to curtail serious violence that killed hundreds upon hundreds of people for months, but all of the sudden Ms. Pelosi is concerned about law enforcement. When the law enforcement is presumably guarding her undeserved office, that is.
Pelosi was also sure to conclude her letter on an equally dramatic note, using Trump’s full name yet again for some kind of emphasis, though to sane minds she is really only emphasizing her full blown Trump Derangement Syndrome.
“Donald John Trump thus warrants impeachment and trial, removal from office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust, or profit under the United States.” [Source: Fox News]
Pence, in the meantime, does not appear overly impressed by Pelosi’s dual impeachment and 25th Amendment bid, which he made blatantly clear in a rather pointed letter to Pelosi, which clearly indicates just how absurd her requests truly are.
“But now, with just eight days left in the President’s term, you and the Democratic Caucus are demanding that the Cabinet and I invoke the 25th Amendment. I do not believe that such course of action is in the best interest of our nation or consistent with our Constitution.” [Source: Breitbart]
Gotta love that “eight days left” comment, which blatantly calls out her rather misguided efforts.
On top of that, really gotta love the emphasis on “best interest,” as Pence is absolutely correct. Impeachment 2.0 is certainly not in the best interest of the nation, just as Impeachment 1.0 was not. In fact, impeachment is so divisive that it is rarely used, but it is quite clear that the Democrats really thrive on division, no matter how often they baselessly drone on about their “unity.”
Pence further amplifies his craft by turning Pelosi’s own words against her in the most brilliant, effective way possible.
“Last week I did not yield to pressure to exert power beyond my constitutional authority to determine the outcome of the election, and I will not now yield to efforts in the House of Representatives to play political games at a time so serious in the life of our Nation.” [Source: Breitbart]
Exactly. And rather difficult for Pelosi to respond cogently. Then again, she has the apparently permanent blanket of protection from fake news media, which means that Pence’s letter will probably barely circulate in the mainstream. A great misfortune.
That said, the spirit of Pence’s final statement encapsulates the hatred of the left and loyalty of his service to Americans.
“I urge you and every member of Congress to avoid actions that would further divide and inflame the passions of the moment.” [Source: Breitbart]
Absolutely. The left is absolutely aware of the havoc that Impeachment 2.0 will cause, just as they are absolutely aware of what BLM and Antifa are truly capable of, which Americans were subjected to throughout all of 2020, and now apparently 2021, particularly with Antifa’s latest stunt in New York City.
Looks like Democrats are intent on starting 2021 with a rather unoriginal bang.
