Late last night, President Trump made an announcement that will surely sadden American Patriots: He and the First Lady, Melania Trump, have tested positive for COVID-19. He also announced that they would both quarantine together over the next fourteen days.
On Trump’s part, he tweeted:
Melania also responded, indicating that they have cancelled all public engagements for the time being, demonstrating complete responsibility.
“As too many Americans have done this year, @potus & I are quarantining at home after testing positive for COVID-19. We are feeling good & I have postponed all upcoming engagements. Please be sure you are staying safe & we will all get through this together.” [Source: Fox News]
In addition, his aide, Hope Hicks, had tested positive for COVID-19 just days earlier, which means that Trump’s new, positive result, is not totally surprising.
Fortunately, Trump is in well-trusted hands, as noted by Dr. Sean P. Conley, the President’s physician, who reiterated Trump’s responsibility.
“This evening I received confirmation that both President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have tested positive for the SARS-coV-2- virus,” Conley said. “The President and First Lady are both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence …”
“The White House medical team and I will maintain a vigilant watch, and I appreciate the support provided by some of our country’s greatest medical professionals and institutions,” he continued.
He added: “Rest assured I expected the President to continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering, and I will keep you updated on any future developments.” [Source: Fox News]
In other words, true leadership. While Biden is hiden’ in his basement for reasons unknown, likely never to be disclosed, Trump is still proceeding forward in the job he was elected to do: serving the American people, during both good and bad times.
Vice-President Pence also chimed in his support, illustrating the close relationship between both of them.
“Karen and I send our love and prayers to our dear friends President @realDonaldTrumpand @FLOTUS Melania Trump,” Pence tweeted. “We join millions across America praying for their full and swift recovery. God bless you President Trump & our wonderful First Lady Melania.” [Source: Fox News]
One can only hope that the fake news media does not take excessive delight in this announcement, though the far-left Antifa organization (or is it an “idea” per the wisdom of Biden?) will surely take great pleasure in this announcement.
Regardless, Trump’s announcement further underscores his integrity, despite the rampant media denial that he does not have any. After all, it wouldn’t exactly be impossible for Trump to obscure this fact, particularly in the high-stakes weeks leading to the election. While he had rallies scheduled in the coming two weeks, it is highly unlikely he will physically travel in person to these rallies, though one could certainly hope for a remote option being announced in the impending future.
Since the second presidential debate is scheduled for October 15, Trump very well may have the chance to continue onwards to the second debate, much to Pelosi’s dismay. After all, Pelosi has already called for a “one and done” debate, clearly out of fear that Biden would continue to underscore his coherence.
This insistence is a bit out of touch with the will of the American people, but Pelosi has never been known for being overly sensitive to the needs of the people either. Starting with the filth that constitutes the once beautiful City of San Francisco. Not to mention refusing to negotiate with Trump and waltzing off on vacation instead of signing a much-needed for coronavirus relief efforts for the people.
Trump, however, has always remained focused on the American people, and he will undoubtedly continue to do so as he battles his way through a COVID-19 recovery.
He will undoubtedly have an outpouring of love and support from around the world, and he will also be keeping the American people and the United States at the forefront of his mind.
