It will be interesting to see how the fake news spins the latest move by our ingenious President Trump, as he’s outwitted them all … again.

As a true leader does, President Trump has thoughtfully evaluated new events that have come to light in recent weeks, including the surge of COVID-19 infections in Florida, which currently number close to 400,000.

Ultimately, he decided to not hold the GOP Convention as planned in Jacksonville, citing health concerns and the importance of protecting Americans.

“The timing for this event is not right, it’s just not right,” Trump said during a press briefing at the White House. “To have a big convention, it’s just not the right time … There is nothing more important in our country than keeping our people safe.” [Source: Fox News]

Trump, in his classically refreshing candor and honesty, also noted that he would protect Americans from all imaginable threats, both external and internal, from the correctly titled “China virus” to the also correctly labeled “radical left mob,” respectively.

While the decision was undoubtedly difficult, President Trump made the right decision to protect Americans. His choice to cancel the GOP Convention represents thoughtful reflection and carefully weighing the pros and cons of possible choices. Ultimately, Trump chose to cancel the GOP Convention out of an abundance of caution for Americans’ health.

This decision was lauded by others. RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel notes that Trump’s focus is the American people, as it’s always been.

“President Trump is focused on leading the American people during this unprecedented crisis, and his number one priority in this decision was the safety of the people of Jacksonville, the convention attendees, and all of the American people …

We support this difficult decision and thank Governor DeSantis, Mayor Curry, and the people of Jacksonville for their hospitality. We look forward to @realDonaldTrump accepting the nomination and addressing the American people on his vision for the next four years!” [Source: Twitter]

Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry and Sheriff Mike Williams weighed in, praising President Trump for his dedication to protecting Americans.

The mayor and the sheriff’s statements affirm Trump’s love for Floridians and anyone else who would be venturing to the state at that time.

“I care deeply about the people of Florida and everywhere else frankly in this country and even in the world who would be coming into the state and I don’t want to do anything to upset it,” Trump stated. [Source: National Review]

After weeks of calling Trump a “murderer” and pretty much every other despicable label under the sun, it will be interesting to see how the fake news spins this one.

For the past several weeks, the fake news media has been gleefully pointing out how Trump is endangering lives by not immediately falling in line with the dictatorial demands of social distancing and mask wearing, although criminal rioters were curiously exempt from the media’s scorn.

When Trump moved the GOP Convention from North Carolina to Florida in order to better accommodate his supporters and support North Carolina’s wishes regarding gatherings, the fake news also jumped all over this story.

Proclaiming that Trump is a murderer who doesn’t care about Americans and doesn’t believe about the virus, the fake news has frequently used the planned GOP convention as the ultimate evidence of Trump’s disregard for the American people and the supposed supremacy of his ego.

What will they say now? Oh, that he cancelled due to the lack of interest?

Trump raised $20 million raised from 300,000 Americans in his first virtual fundraiser, more than triple Biden’s “blistering” fundraising, so it might be a little difficult to spin the whole “lack of interest” angle.

Hm, what else could they say? That Trump was “forced” to cancel the GOP Convention?

Last time anyone checked, President Trump hasn’t been “forced” to do anything, which has so enraged Ms. Pelosi that she’s spat she will “fumigate” him out of the White House, apparently forgetting that it hasn’t considered very cool to liken humans to insects or rats after World War II.

So far, the best the fake news seems to have come up with is that President Trump has “abruptly” cancelled the rally. Give them 48 hours, I’m sure some new catastrophe will be invented by then.

The left will have an entire weekend to scramble and think about different ways to spin Trump’s decision into unfavorable oblivion, while President Trump will keep his focus on the campaign promises that got him elected in the first place: Putting the health, safety, and well-being of Americans first.

Imagine that.
