Ultra-leftists and fake media commentators have delighted in America’s economic decline since the onset of COVID-19, all because they think it makes President Trump look bad. Unfortunately for the most ardent critics of Trump, economic data released from the Bureau of Labor Statistics for June 2020 reveals that Trump has continued to keep America great.
Through adding 4.8 million new jobs and reducing unemployment levels by 2.2%, all in the midst of an unprecedented pandemic, Trump has silenced critics eagerly awaiting bleak economic data. For instance, MSNBC critic Rachel Maddow recently proclaimed that June’s jobs report would be terrible:
“Because Friday is the federal holiday honoring the Fourth of July, we’re actually gonna get the jobless numbers, the unemployment for the month of June a day earlier than we would otherwise expect them,” Maddow told her viewers. “Brace yourself. It’s going to be absolutely terrible, but we should have those as of tomorrow morning.” [Source: Fox News]
Perhaps it was Maddow who should have braced herself, as the “absolutely terrible” data she was thirsting for turned out to be absolutely wonderful news for those who have steadfast faith in Trump and in American capitalism. Then again, Maddow has a history of wildly inaccurate claims regarding the Trump administration, particularly regarding the Russia probe. This inaccuracy led to a scathing assessment of Maddow’s deliberate fearmongering:
“Rachel Maddow has been a hero of her own spy-thriller. She has written, directed and starred in a hit production based on the unlikely premise of a prime-time cable TV show host unraveling the most dastardly plot in American history — one opening monologue at a time.
Only the story had a surprise twist at the end — she was completely wrong” [Source: Politico]
Unfortunately, Maddow, like most critics of Trump, has yet to learn her lesson. Despite being resoundingly ridiculed last year for her grossly inaccurate assessment of the investigation, which resulted in her primetime ratings plummeting, she and her ilk continue to chase every media-invented bogeyman related to Trump, all in the name of ratings.
Largely impervious to the hate he unfairly receives in the fake news media, Trump soldiers onward for the American people, just as he has from the very beginning of his initial campaign to become President. Rather than chasing empty, self-aggrandizing ratings like Maddow, Trump prefers to focus on the heart and soul of the United States: hardworking American patriots.
Trump demonstrated nothing short of pure elation to the American people, as well as high hopes for the future of the United States economy:
“This is the largest monthly jobs gain in the history of our country,” Trump told reporters. “Today’s announcement proves our economy is roaring back, it’s coming back extremely strong … The stock market is soaring with the best gains in over 20 years” [Source: The Street]
The 4.8 million added jobs also include 356,000 manufacturing jobs, which represents another fulfillment of one of the hallmark promises of the Trump campaign. Trump has sagely noted that unfair trade deals have not only resulted in unfair trade deficits with other nations, particularly China, but they’ve also adversely affected the American middle class through eliminating domestic jobs.
While critics have predictably scoffed at his “America First” trade policy, the same policies have also reinvigorated a sector of the economy that has been in constant decline since firms have outsourced manufacturing elsewhere. Under Trump, these firms are starting to look inward, rather than outward, for labor:
“Manufacturing looks like it’s really ready to take off at a level that’s never been before,” Trump said. “And a lot of that has to do with our trade policy because we’re bring manufacturing back to our country and these take a long time to get going and they’re now going.” [Source: The Street]
Despite the left’s best efforts to denigrate Trump, including outright lies in collusion with the media on more than one occasion, they have consistently failed to affect the most important metrics of all: the health of the American economy, one of the most important indicators of Trump’s presidential prowess. Considering that several Americans indicate that the economy is one of the most important determinants for casting their ballots in November, the future is rosy for Trump, the American people, and the United States.
