ISIS was a major threat for years—to both the United States and countries around the world. When he was elected, Donald Trump promised an end to this bloodthirsty terror network. Now, after two years, he makes a startling announcement.
ISIS rose to power during the Obama administration. The former president’s policy on the Middle East seemed to only sow more chaos and destruction. He withdrew troops from Iraq—a major political promise—which caused more bad than good.
Experts warned President Obama at the time that withdrawing troops would create a vacuum of power. It could destabilize the region, leading to more death and destruction.
He did it anyway.
The lack of a strong military presence in the country allowed remnants of Al Qaeda to regroup and grow. The terrorists started capturing territory and killing many. Soon, they called themselves the Islamic State. Not long after that, they invaded Syria, gaining even more ground.
ISIS became the biggest source of terrorism around the world. Over the last few years, they sent or inspired agents to kill many around the world. We know about their horrific acts of death in Europe and the United States. But ISIS spread terror across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia as well.
Donald Trump, during the 2016 Election, promised an end to ISIS. When asked about his plans, he remained tight-lipped. He said he wasn’t going to give away what he wanted to do. That made the media scoff, but Americans cheer. This man had every intention of destroying this terrorist group and he was taking it seriously.
Soon after Trump was elected president, he went to work. The Pentagon, along with our allies, started seeing great progress against ISIS. Soon, they couldn’t even be called an “Islamic State,” because they had so little territory.
Today, President Trump makes a major announcement. ISIS as we knew it is gone for good.
The caliphate has crumbled, and the final offensive is over. While the official announcement hasn’t yet been made – Fox News has been told that this village, the last ISIS stronghold, is liberated…
The last five days, Fox News has witnessed the last major offensive up close -– with U.S.-backed SDF forces attacking ISIS from three sides, pushing the fighters back, house to house, then tent to tent, against the Euphrates River…
This final corner of the caliphate was in the far eastern desert of Syria– it was where ISIS first captured territory, and it is where they finally lost.
A clearing operation is now underway in the town– and an announcement is expected soon.
None of the main surviving ISIS leaders have been caught inside Baghouz. Instead, they left their men to fight alone. It’s thought they prepared ahead for the insurgency.
The scale of the devastation here is incredible. And everyone acknowledges that without U.S. support, it would have taken far longer. [Source: Fox News]
President Trump took to Twitter to show just how much ISIS has lost in the last two years. They went from controlling large portions of the Middle East, to nothing.
“ISIS Caliphate two years ago in red vs. ISIS Caliphate TODAY. (Was even worse in November 2016 before I took office).”
Destroying ISIS was one of Donald Trump’s top campaign promises. Early in his administration we saw progress. Attacks around the world by this group fell, as they continued to lose more ground in Syria and Iraq. Today, they are nothing, barely a rag-tag group of rebels.
But rest assure, our liberal media will not cover this. They will not celebrate this major victory—which has won peace for the entire world—because it was Trump’s doing. The pathetic Democrats who run the mainstream media can’t give credit to the president. Especially with the election around the corner.
We will, though. We won’t let this massive achievement go unannounced. President Trump did what Barack Obama couldn’t (or wouldn’t) do. He destroyed ISIS.
Don’t let this milestone go unnoticed. Share this story to thank President Trump for what he’s achieved for America.
